This is a quote that allows people to be as rational as they would like to be and as emotional as they want to be without necessarily having to choose one or the other. Although it may seem that the words of this quote are contradictory, there is a significant amount of truth here. This quote has been said many times by many people and it has been said often by me on Twitter and Facebook. At the first moment it sounds wrong, but if you think about it carefully, it makes sense.

We all love someone who loves us and we hate someone who hates us. If someone loves us, we feel happy without being able to explain why. The same applies to hate, where we feel bad without being able to explain why.

Sometimes this feeling of happiness means that our emotions are too extreme, so moderate emotion would be better for us. The same happens with hate until finally, both feelings are normal emotions that can help us express our love or hate for others or for ourselves.
